What is your purpose?

I am fully aware that the cupcake has nothing to do with the post.  The cupcake is for my viewing pleasure.110_F_50491179_gFvPQiKHzvAxPOje2FUoYiOarvaUMISs

What is your purpose in life?

Why are you here on earth?  What gifts has God instilled in you that are specific and unique to you and only you?

Having a purpose is wonderful and guess what? Every person that is living has a purpose(s).  Everyone has a purpose in life that they are “supposed” to fulfill.  I put the word suppose in quotations because the sad truth is that many people do not know they have a purpose.  The thing is it is not because they do not want to have a purpose or destiny.  It is because they think having a purpose is for other, more special people.

It seems like most people think these sabotaging thoughts not realizing that they are in fact those “other” people  and “special” person.  I once asked an older individual what their purpose is in life and she said a wonderful yet what I believe to be a generic answer.  After hesitating she said her only purpose in life was “To raise my kids.”  While this is one of the greatest and fulfilling endeavors a person can embark on, I, being the high achiever felt the answer I was given wasn’t  sufficient and didn’t require much thought.

Moms stay with me lol

To further elaborate lets say that your sole purpose in life is to JUST raise your kids.  What are you raising them as?  Are you raising them to be God fearing and compassionate of others? Are you raising them to be leaders and to be ambitious?  The main issue I have with an answer as such is what happens when your children are older and have left the nest.  Does that mean that your purpose in life is done and your sole reason for living has passed?  No, because you are still living.  As long as you have breath in your lungs you have a purpose to fulfill.

It saddens me to see wonderful, beautiful women who are living below their dreams and aspirations because they have not taken the time to seek out their purpose.  I wholeheartedly believe that you can only live a full life as God intended if we are living within our purpose.  Women, it is time to examine your life and become aligned.

Am I a b**** for feeling this way?

Most Importantly

Are you living a life of purpose?

My name is Robinette and I love cupcakes, cakes, and donuts! I am a follower of Christ, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I believe my life’s purpose is to empower women by inspiring them to rise to optimal living, hence the blog. I believe that I am already a success because I am following my dreams and on track to my life’s purpose and what to see other women do the same. I will share my life’s lessons and the wisdom I have gained from it using my signature humor…Ok I’m not that funny.
  • Another thought provoking post! And here’s a thought provoking question: Do you think that in life, our purposes change? Or, for some people, they have “revolving” purposes. I say that because at one time, my purpose was to be a school teacher. I fulfilled that purpose and moved on to some other things. Sometimes I feel like God made some of us to be flexible and open so that we can fit into many different openings for His divine purposes to be filled when others pass on them. What do you think?

That’s a great comment! To answer the question of If I think purposes change I believe you have to first step out of our time and attempt to look at the bigger picture. I do not believe that our purposes change, because although our daily living puts us on the right track with destiny, it does not necessarily mean that we are living in purpose. I believe that our purposes are predestined and thats why God put the right ingredients-DNA, personality, characteristics-in us at the time of conception. However, you are on point with the idea that our purposes may progress from one to the next i.e you being a school teacher has most likely prepared you for something greater. And yes I do believe that God will call on someone else when others fail to act. Thanks for the comment! I had to come back to this question after I first read it lol

I completely agree and I contemplate on this thought (what is my purpose) everyday! It’s like an obsession. Once I find out what it is I’ll be better off in life, however I’m still searching. Great blog, I’m proud of you. I hope you prosper in everything you do. Keep inspiring us!!!!!

That is good that you contemplate it and means you want to live a life of significance as you have significance in you. What works for me, and you have heard this a milli times, is to pray about it and to let God guide you as He will. The answer may not come when you first pray but as soon as you pray about it He will put you on track–>as I am sure you are. Sometimes God does not show you the Big picture for your life, so Dee you are most likely already on track and don’t even realize it. As He starts guiding you it is important to be obedient to what He tells you to do. As cliché as it sounds, you will know when you are prompted to do something by Him. And don’t be afraid of failure and step out. Also, don’t stress yourself about it, because the growing is in the journey.
