What is it that you really want to be? You know pursuing that job or career that seems absolutely crazy and/ or unattainable? Or dyeing your hair that drastic color because you think it is cute. Whatever it is, like Nike says, just do it. Why? Because one day you will look back and wonder if you could have or should have. Most often we don’t regret the things we did and failed at, but the things we didn’t do. I can’t count how many times I have missed out on opportunities because I was afraid of doing something or its outcome. For example, when I began college I wanted to try out for the dance team, but didn’t because I was afraid I wasn’t going to make the team. The sad thing about that is that I was on my high school’s dance team for almost 3 years and in retrospect I probably would have made it. I got in my own head and limited my life to things that were comfortable, wouldn’t lead to “failure,” and required no stepping outside of the box. I cannot stress the importance of doing what it is that you REALLY want to do. This is your life and you can’t live it for anyone else. You can really surprise yourself. Living out your dreams and going for what you want is not reserved for a certain kind of person. You can do it too. Then you reach back and help someone else.
