Behold, the power of gratitude…So important, yet sooo overlooked. We have so much to be grateful for. However, we often focus on those things in which we don’t have.
I don’t have the latest Gucci Bag–>I need it now! No, wait…I needed it yesterday!
I’m not married yet. All my friends are boo’d up. Jesus must not like me today.
I haven’t updated my wardrobe in years. I can’t afford to cuz I got kids and bills…not dollar bills tho….
Often, the ungrateful s*** list is endless. We fail to realize all that we are blessed with. Woe is me.
When you practice gratitude, you invite more of those things you wish for into your life. Being grateful or in a state of gratitude opens your heart up for more blessings. You know how when you were young and you wanted a new pair of shoes, purse etc and your parents told you “no” and to be grateful for what you already have. And you would be like “oh stfu” in your mind. Well its truthful. The things we want are not always a necessity. And as economics teaches us, humans have an almost endless list of wants. We want and want and want and keep wanting. And then we want the things we don’t really want. We just want it to make us feel better. We acquire things and then those things get old. And they get old really quick. Then we are on to the next. Don’t believe me. Look in your closet at threads 2 seasons ago….You don’t want to be bothered *sips tea*.
So how does SHE practice gratitude? Is it religion? Do I have to convert?
All you have to do is wake up with intention. What works for me is to write down at least one thing that I am grateful for and to meditate on it for a minute or two. Feel the gratitude in your loins lol…breathe it, be one with it. It can be as simple as being grateful for the sunshine or that your ass didn’t roll off the bed in the night.
The point is to be aligned. Be grateful and watch your blessings magnify.
